MAP Amendment

80 members of the Coalition to Promote US Agricultural Exports said in a letter to Senate Agriculture Committee Leaders they strongly opposed a proposed amendment by Sen. Tom Coburn to the 2012 farm bill to reduce annual funding for the Market Access Program by $40 million and prohibit the use of MAP funds for certain activities. The Coalition said reducing funding for MAP would seriously undermine US agriculture's ability to compete in this highly competitive international marketplace.
