Farm Bill Update

A new strategy is emerging to pass the farm bill. House leaders will allow lawmakers to vote on a one-year extension of the current farm program with additional disaster relief for livestock and specialty crop producers. This would allow House Agriculture Committee leaders to conference with Senate leaders on the legislation after the August recess.
