Best food sample of the show

At the recent 2002 American School Foodservice Association National Convention in Minneapolis, nearly 1,000 of the attendees stopped by the Northarvest Bean Growers Association booth to receive information about Northarvest dry beans.

be receive the unit before fall semester begins so they can use it in their classes. Below, Attendees at the American Foodservice Association convention offered
a great deal of postive feedback. They repeatedly said they enjoyed sampling the unique recipes and that they received valuable information about preparing and cooking dry beans.
Booth activities included:
Distribution of more than 600 "Bean Smart About Bean" kits and Northarvest branded bags. The kits -- part of a new Northarvest promotion designed to help foodservice use beans to create fun, nutritional school lunches -- were overwhelmingly well received. Demand exceed expectations by nearly 50%.
An opportunity to sample some of the recipes featured in the kit. They included Frazzle Dazzle Pizza, Bean My Valentine Cake and Beany Burger Soup. Attendees raved about the dishes. Comments included "best food sample of the show" and "tastes just like homemade."
Collection of names of foodservice professionals requesting more Northarvest information. Contact information will be used for future mailings.
An opportunity to play "Guess the Number of Beans in the Jar" game. The game helped draw and keep attendees at the booth, thus providing additional opportunities for conversation. The attendee who successfully guess the correct number of beans in the jar won a gift certificate to Crate and Barrel.
Attendees offers a great deal of positive feedback. They repeatedly said that they enjoyed sampling the unique recipes and that they received valuable information about preparing and cooking dry beans.
