North Dakota-Grown Seed Sources
January 15, 2003

According to the North Dakota State Seed Department, 3,161 acres of certified or registered Maverick pinto and 101 acres of Arthur navy seed passed inspection this year.

Arthur and Maverick are protected varieties and can only be sold by variety name and only as a class of certified seed.

The 2003 Seed Bulletin lists the names and phone numbers of the farmers and the number of acres of dry bean seed that the ND State Seed Department certified.

Certification of a variety does not imply recommendation of a variety. Growers should check the listing of recommended vareities for their particular area. This information is available from the North Dakota Cooperative Extension Service and North Dakota Agricultural Experiment Station.
