UNL Extension Educator Retires
February 07, 2018
Nebraska Extension Educator Jim Schild retired on January 31 from a 35-year Extension career. Schild spent nearly 30 of those years in Scotts Bluff County, where he worked on dry edible bean projects. In 2001, Schild took over University of Nebraska - Lincoln dry bean variety testing. Some of his work included comparison of nitrogen fertilizer response in new dry bean varieties of dry beans, such as Marquis and Beryl, to existing varieties. Schild also conducted research in helping bean fields recover from hail storms.
