USDA Wants Canned Beans

USDA is planning to purchase canned beans, frozen and fresh vegetables and canned, frozen and fresh fruit for donation to the Child Nutrition Program in the current fiscal year. Deliveries will be required between August 15th and November 15th. Included on the shopping list are more than 72,000 cases of various classes of canned dry beans, as well as 99.5 million cwt of bulk potatoes for processing; 6,400 cwt of fresh Russet and round white potatoes; and 335,000 cases of frozen potato products.
